Altered Pursonality™-Altered Book Purses

Glam-o-Rama Book Purse, front
Glam-o-Rama! (front)
I began creating this line of altered book purses at the end of last year, but with my book commitment, I needed to wait their release; they will soon be available under the name Altered Pursonality™!
Glam-o-Rama Book Purse, back
Glam-o-Rama! (back)
Each purse is a custom-made work of art created from a real book. The interior is lined with an eclectic combination of high quality decorator fabrics and professionally finished. More to come…

art journaling

everybody hurts
everybody hurts
A few art journal entries loaded with color and emotion. There’s so much coming up for me with the release of my book and participation at a show next weekend in Las Vegas…a whirlwind of emotion, fear and vulnerability. I’m working on my breathing techniques…

three keys
three keys to control
Why is doing the right thing so darn hard? Inquiring minds want to know…
So how was your weekend? :)

Altered Images

pansies
I love altering photographs and images by hand…it is a magical, creative process; an artform unto itself. While the photographer sees a photo as the final product, I see it as art waiting to happen…

campanula
Each altered photo is a journey into the unknown…no two photos will turn out exactly alike, making each a unique piece of art!

Feelin’ Crafty – Embroidered Jeans

Embroidered Flower
A little bit of change going on now that I have some free time! I’m feeling a litte burnt out, so I’m going with whatever strikes my fancy…I love the look of fall fashions showing all things embellished, but I refuse to pay $175.00 for a pair of embellliished jeans! I decided to try my hand at a bit of embroidery and beading on an old pair of jean shorts. I used very basic stitches with all 6 strands of embroidery thread (no hoop needed) allows the stitching to go quite fast and covers the areas well. I reinforced the beaded areas by stitching through each bead twice. I like the mix of freehand stitching and beads with basic satin stitched areas. Moving on to a pair of jeans now…

Photopainted Bayou

Louisiana Swamp
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you in the hurricane-affected states…
This is one of my favorite hand-painted photos…an illuminated bayou; taken by my friend Glenn last September in Louisiana.

“Charm”-ing Designs

Can you ever have too much of a good thing? I don’t think so…especially when it comes to something as fun as these.
Once I figured out how to make these collaged charms, I couldn’t stop. Now my mind is ablaze with all the ways I can craft them into usable items; keychains, bracelets, necklaces. Gotta run…looks like it’s going to be another crafty day!

Ephemera Photo Album

PHOTO ALBUM
Inspired by memories of summer’s past…
Remembering cross-country trips in the back seat, hoping and praying I could just catch a glimpse of a Jack-a-lope…never did see one. But I did collect some pretty cool souvenirs.
