Boy do I ever feel like that too! Great post.
Thanks for visiting my blog too, and thanks for the painter's tape tip as well. I had no idea you were the author of the collage book! I have that on my Amazon wishlist, small world.

I don't know about you, but 9 times out of 10, I get so many ideas and thoughts swirling in my mind, I'm not sure what to do or even where to start! And then suddenly, my moment of pure excitement quickly turns into utter frustration...

Why does this happen? Why is it that whenever I'm not sure what to do, doubt sets in (like when I tell myself, "I could never create something as beautiful, wonderful and/or inspiring as that!") and I can't create anything?"

I posted about these same feelings on my blog a couple of months ago. I was having a LOT of those kinds of moments. Although ai hate to hear that others have those horrible feelings of inferiority, it is nice to know that there are wonderful artists out there who go through the same emotions. Thanks for sharing!

here's a link if ya want to peek...
http://tautchiacoleman.blogspot.com/2006/08/uggghhhh.html

hugs!
Tautchia

(sorry for the delete... the link didn't work)

"Because as artists (of any kind!), we are driven to leave our mark on the world...we are driven to create, not copy."

Very profound and inspiring words in their own right. I feel compelled to create and leave my mark on the world, as I believe I am an artist.

Thank you! =)
