With the holidays approaching, gift-giving and decorating ideas are on everyone’s mind…and since I’m always looking for new ways to use the products I already have, I loved the idea of staining plain glass ornaments with the alcohol inks featured in last week’s Technique Tuesdays (tinted photo overlay and tinted transparencies).
Janet and Rachel (a few crafty P’s) swirled a few drops of alcohol ink inside plain glass ornaments, while Karen Lawton stamped and tinted the outside of her ornaments with these versatile inks. Take a look at how artist Judy Schieck pushes the creative envelope…her colorful airbrushed ornaments are amazing works of art!
So many crafty ideas…so little time!

They are beautiful! I love them.
GORGEOUS! I have all the alcohol inks! Can’t wait to play with this idea! Thanks so much for sharing it! (And the gorgeous example photo!)
Kel,
Where can I get alcohol inks? Can I get them from somewhere like Micheals?
I love the Tuesday posts!
Gorgeous! I may have to try this!

There are two brands of alcohol inks I work with: Adirondack and Pinata. Here’s a link to see what they look like…
Adirondack Inks: http://hannahgrey.com/product_info.php/products_id/662
(this is a great online site with cool and unique artistic items!)
Pinata Inks:

These inks can also be found at art or craft stores like Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, JoAnne’s, etc.
I so want to jump on the alcohol ink bandwagon. The picture you posted is fantabulous.
