I love this quote…
When we pay close attention to all that surrounds us, we begin to notice the extraordinary in the ordinary…we see life with new eyes.
Over the past few months, I have found myself surrounded by a number of artists who have touched my life and my heart with words of wisdom, kindness and encouragement. What was — and still is — so utterly amazing to me is that each person who makes their presence known here does not have to give of themselves. Yet they do…over and over again. And I am so grateful that they make their presence known.
My love for literature and layers of meaning found a familiar place with Carla’s insightful posts and exquisite illustrations…and I instantly admired La Jonquille, an articulate 13-year-old whose mission in life is “to be the kind of person [she] would want to be best friends with”…she is wise beyond her years to say the least.
Then there’s Lyn, the little girl in the cowboy hat who reveals snippets of her humorous self through her photo art and fabulous snapshots from her childhood…Carolyn, a talented cartoonist who creates colorful characters with character…and Charlene (Cha-Cha), a young and fresh artist who is staying true…to herself, what she believes in and what rocks her world!
I can’t help but smile at the sight of the artist who is just “bee’n me”, aka Becky, a talented illustrator who speaks from the heart: “We’re all creating quite a beautiful tapestry as we weave in and out of each other’s lives.”
And I have to mention a few recently unearthed treasures:
- Melanie…a mixed media artist whose elegant, wise and honest creations feel like a conversation with a good friend;
- Kelly…her pure soul and fresh collage art shines bright;
- Joleen…a wonderfully creative artist who has a huge humanitarian heart and a knack for inspiring others.
- Michelle…a resourceful UK artist that has amassed a plethora of information, links and resources for all things crafty and artistic, as well as the fact that she has been unbelievably kind and supportive of me on her site (thank you!).
I apologize for not including all who have taken the time to look and leave messages. Each and every person who stops by, whether you leave a message or not, is appreciated (even the guy who asked me if my art was “drug inspired”!).
I love this community…this slice of the bigger picture that reveals itself one person at a time. And I love being in the flow of life.
I am so paying attention…
