Creative Collage for Scrapbooks

Collage COVER
Coming October 2005!!!
This is quite a defining moment in my life and one that I am thrilled to share.
I have just completed my first book…”Creative Collage for Scrapbooks” which is being published this October 2005.

This book is about defining and assembling the layers of your life…it is about expressing yourself and the unique way in which you see the world around you. It is about creating art in your style with over 50 artistic techniques that can be used to create collage art, altered books, art journals, paper arts and scrapbook art.

Even though I have put my heart and soul into this book for the past year, it was truly created from a lifetime of experiences. So while today feels like the end of an unbelievable journey, I know that in fact, it is just the beginning of what is to come…

Many thanks to everyone who has been so supportive on my Crafty-Girl blog. There were many times over the past few months that I thought I’d never finish this book, that I’d never be able to create another piece of art (that I’d never know what it was like to sleep 8 hours in a row again!)…and then I’d receive some of the most wonderfully positive and encouraging comments that were nuggets of inspiration for me. I encourage you to follow your dreams…keep doing what you love to do, and remember:

“You have to go out on a limb sometimes, because that is where the fruit is.”

ooo…oOOO! I can’t wait to check out your book. I don’t scrap-book, but I ‘d like to see your collage techniques. I’ve never collaged, but I admire your style, because it relies on your drawing and painting as well as incorporating found items. I like this approach because I think it evokes one’s personality more than just using found objects. (I hope that makes sense…I have had profound troubles articulating lately!!)

I have bought your book and I have a question: When you use a brayer to spread color/ink, what type of brayer is it? Hard rubber (I use it to flatten paper when I use liquid glue) or foam brayer (used to paint walls)?
