Wet Photo Transfer
I’m getting better at accepting the unpredictable results when it comes to photo transfers…and I’ve realized that it is the state of unpredictability that I’m so fascinated with…and one of the reasons I am so happy with this one! I really like how the colors ran (just enough!) and how vibrant they are; I also really like the transfer on this textured paper. No digital touch-up here…only a bit of colored pencil; pretty clear image for an inkjet transfer!
As for the unpredictability of transfers…I do have to wonder why my photo transfers seem come out so well when I’m just playing around as opposed to when I actually “need” them to come out well on an important piece of art. Do I choke? or is it just the odds of transfers? I think I’m going to rest with the thought that the results are what they are…simply a part of the creative process. If I think about it, I’ve come up with some remarkable cover-ups and even a few new techniques when my transfers have turned out less than desirable…
Note to self: embrace the power of “flopportunities” and love the perfect state of imperfection.
